People who keep their feelings to themselves tend not to know, after a while, what their feelings are. -Paul Berman Feelings are not supposed to be logical. Dangerous is the person who has rationalized his or her
emotions. -David Borenstein The potter makes the rules, not the clay. I don't have to be perfect. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the messy, imperfect and beautiful journey of my life. It’s a trip more wonderful than I could have imagined. ~Kerry Washington |
Big Book
Quote While I lay in the hospital the thought came that there were
thousands of hopeless alcoholics who might be glad to have what had been so
freely given me. Perhaps I could help some of them. They in turn might work
with others. P14 |

Reflection READINESS
TO SERVE OTHERS . .
. our Society has concluded that it has but one high mission—to
carry the A.A. message to those who don't know
there's a way out TWELVE
STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 151 The
"Light" to freedom shines bright on my fellow alcoholics
as each one of us challenges the other to grow. The
"Steps" to self-improvement have small beginnings, but
each Step builds the "ladder" out of the pit of despair to new
hope. Honesty becomes my "tool" to unfurl the "chains"
which bound me. A sponsor, who is a caring listener,
can help me to truly hear the message guiding me to
freedom. I ask
God for the courage to live in such a way that the Fellowship
may be a testimony to His favor. This mission frees
me to share my gifts of wellness through a spirit of readiness
to serve others. |
Pot Luck Conscience
is the perfect interpreter of life. ~~
Karl Barth Our
conscience swiftly informs us when we’ve made a rash judgment or responded
too harshly to someone. We can trust this as a reminder from God that we are
veering off our spiritual path. How
lucky we are that within all of us there's a source of spiritual guidance
where we can turn for direction in our life, and it's always available to us.
Of course, we may refuse to listen, particularly when we're in an ego
struggle with someone. We sometimes choose to obsessively focus our mind on
our efforts to control another person, and this effectively prevents us from
receiving the guidance authored by our Higher Power. If we open ourselves to
God's guidance, our behavior could immediately and dramatically change. It's
comforting to know that we always have directions available to take the right
action, respond the best way, and make the right choices. Our loving Guide
awaits within to help us every step of our way. &&& If
I get quiet for just a moment before speaking or acting, I’ll not be sorry
