"Fellowship is a place of grace, where mistakes aren't rubbed in but rubbed out. Fellowship happens when
mercy wins over justice." ~ Rick Warren “In AA’s Eleventh Step I find that I build today the road I travel tomorrow.” Binghamton, N.Y., April 1968 See each morning a world made anew, as if it were the morning of the very first day; treasure and use it, as if it were the final hour of the very last day. “There is no such thing in anyone’s life as an unimportant day” ~Alexander Wollcott I am in the present. I cannot know what tomorrow will bring forth. I can know only what the truth is for me today. That is what I am called upon to serve, and I serve it in all
lucidity. ~Igor Stravinsky |

BIG BOOK QUOTE You will be bound to
them with new and wonderful ties, for you will escape disaster together and
you will commence shoulder to shoulder your common journey. Then you will
know what it means to give of yourself that others may survive and rediscover
life. P152,153 |

12&12 Step Two - "Came to believe that a Power greater than
ourselves could restore us to sanity." “Well”, says the newcomer, “I know you’re telling me the truth.
It’s no doubt a fact that A.A. is full of people who once believed as II do.
But just how, in these circumstances, does a fellow ‘take it easy”? That’s
what I want to know.” P26 |

DAILY
REFLECTIONS A
CHANGED OUTLOOK Our
whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. ALCOHOLICS
ANONYMOUS, p. 84 When I was
drinking, my attitude was totally selfish, totally
self-centered; my pleasure and my comfort came first. Now
that I am sober, self-seeking has started to slip away. My
whole attitude toward life and other people is changing.
For me, the first "A" in our name stands for attitude.
My attitude is changed by the second
"A" in our name, which
stands for action. By working the Steps, attending
meetings, and carrying the message, I can be restored to sanity.
Action is the magic word! With a positive, helpful
attitude and regular A.A. action, I can stay sober and help
others to achieve sobriety. My attitude now is that I am
willing to go to any length to stay sober! |

POT LUCK As Bill Sees It FALSE PRIDE, p. 285 The alarming thing about
pride-blindness is the ease with which it is justified. But we need not
look far to see that self-justification is a universal destroyer of
harmony and of love. It sets man against man, nation against nation. By it,
every form of folly and violence can be made to look right, and even
respectable. ******************************* It would be a product of
false pride to claim that A.A. is a cure-all, even for alcoholism. 1. GRAPEVINE, JUNE 1961 2. A.A. COMES OF AGE, p. 232 |
