Your Daily Reprieve for Saturday April 25, 2026 From Boston, MA |

Keep in mind that part of growing up is learning how to deal with difficult issues, and the benefits can be great if you have the courage to ask
for help. Human beings are not designed to go through life alone. No one has to bear the burden of the tough times all by
themselves. Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. -Henry Ward Beecher The masters in the art of living make little distinction between their work and their play, their labor and their
leisure, their mind and their body, their information and their
recreation, their love and their religion.
They hardly know which is which. They simply pursue their vision of excellence at whatever they
do, leaving others to decide whether they are working or playing. To them they’re always doing both. -James Michener Even as we grieved, we grew. Even as we hurt, we hoped. Even as we tired, we tried. |

12&12 A.A.”s Twelve Steps are a group of principles, spiritual in
their nature, which, if practiced as a way of life, can expel the obsession
to drink and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole. p. 15 |

DAILY
REFLECTIONS ENTERING A
NEW DIMENSION In the
late stages of our drinking the will to resist has fled. Yet when
we admit complete defeat and when we become entirely
ready to try A. A. principles, our obsession leaves us and we
enter a new dimension—freedom under God as we
understand Him. AS BILL SEES
IT, p. 283 I am
fortunate to be among the ones who have had this awesome
transformation in my life. When I entered the doors of
A.A., alone and desperate, I had been beaten into willingness
to believe anything I heard. One of the things I heard was,
"This could be your last hangover, or you can keep going
round and round." The man who said this obviously was
a whole lot better off than 1.1 liked the idea of admitting
defeat and I have been free ever since! My heart heard
what my mind never could: "Being powerless over alcohol
is no big deal." I'm free and I'm grateful! |
