"Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. ~Sally Koch “We don't need more to be thankful for; we need to be more thankful.” "All change is not growth, as all movement is not forward." “Whenever things get hard, or I don’t want to follow through with a suggestion, I simply humble myself to my Higher Power and say, ‘Just for today.’ That helps me live in the moment.” ~ San José, California, October 2011 |

Twenty-Four Hours A.A. Thought For The Day |
|
Daily Thought ^*^*^*^*^ Change How many of us would presume to declare, "Well, I'm sober,
and I'm happy. What more can I want, or do? I'm fine the way I am." We
know that the price of such self-satisfaction is an inevitable backslide,
punctuated at some point by a very rude awakening. We have to grow or else
deteriorate. For us, the status quo can only be for today, never for
tomorrow. Change we must; we cannot stand still. Bill W., April 1961

DAILY
REFLECTIONS NO MORE
STRUGGLE. . . And we
have ceased fighting anything or anyone— even alcohol. ALCOHOLICS
ANONYMOUS, p. 84 When A.A.
found me, I thought I was in for a struggle, and that A.A.
might provide the strength I needed to beat alcohol.
Victorious in that fight, who knows what other battles I
could win. I would need to be strong, though. All my previous
experience with life proved that. Today I do not have to
struggle or exert my will. If I take those Twelve Steps and
let my Higher Power do the real work, my alcohol
problem disappears all by itself. My living problems
also cease to be struggles. I just have to ask whether
acceptance—or change—is required. It is not my will, but
His, that needs doing. |

POT LUCK Journey To The Heart The Best Is Yet to Come Set yourself free from
limitations, limitations you have placed on yourself. Sometimes in life we may begin
thinking the best part is over. I’ve done my best work, had my best times. We
don’t have to limit ourselves, life or the universe. You’ve had many great times,
visited many interesting places, done excellent work, and had truly memorable
experiences. You’ve experienced a lifetime of love – with family members,
friends, loved ones. But the best isn’t over. Whether you’re at the end of a
particular relationship, task, or part of your journey, the best is not over.
It is still to come. Memories of excellent times are
to be cherished. Clinging to them in a way that limits our lives is a
different issue. Often, it keeps us from cherishing the present moment and
creatively participating in our future. All endings are inexorably tied
to new beginnings. That’s the nature of the journey. It continues to unfold.
It builds on itself. It can’t help itself from doing that. Cherish the
moments, all of them. You have seen and felt much in life so far. But still,
the best is yet to come. Open yourself to all the journey
holds. The universe is abundant. You are ready to be healed, calmed,
empowered. You are ready to partake of the banquet of life, again and again.
You are ready to take your place in new, creative experiences. There are many
places still to see, soul mates yet to meet, lessons to be learned, joys to
be experienced. Transcend your limitations. Open
your mind and heart to all that lies ahead. Call it to you often in the
quietness of your heart by believing what is true. The best is yet to come. |
