"Friendship ... is born at the moment when one man says to another "What! You too? I thought that no one but myself..." ~C. S. Lewis I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and
missed. I’ve failed over and
over and over again in my life. And that is why I
succeed. —Michael Jordan Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. —Albert Einstein I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions. —Stephen Covey |

12&12 Tradition Five - "Each
group has but one primary purpose - to carry it's message to the alcoholic
who still suffers." |
|
Twenty-Four Hours A.A. Thought For The Day |
|
Daily Thought ^*^*^*^*^ Action "But the program of action, though
entirely sensible, was pretty drastic. It meant I would have to throw several
lifelong conceptions out of the window. That was not easy. But the moment I
made up my mind to go through with the process, I had the curious feeling
that my alcoholic condition was relieved, as in fact it proved to be. Quite
as important was the discovery that spiritual principles would solve all my
problems." Thought to Consider . . . Never mistake motion for action. *~*AACRONYMS*~*

DAILY
REFLECTIONS RESCUED
BY SURRENDERING Characteristic
of the so-called typical alcoholic is a narcissistic
egocentric core, dominated by feelings of omnipotence,
intent on maintaining at all costs its inner integrity.
. . . Inwardly the alcoholic brooks no control from man
or God He, the alcoholic, is and must be the master of his
destiny. He will fight to the end to preserve that position. A.A.
COMES OF AGE, p. 311 The
great mystery is: "Why do some of us die alcoholic deaths,
fighting to preserve the 'independence' of our ego, while
others seem to sober up effortlessly in A.A.?" Help from a
Higher Power, the gift of sobriety, came to me when an
otherwise unexplained desire to stop drinking coincided with
my willingness to accept the suggestions of the men and
women of A.A. I had to surrender, for only by reaching out to
God and my fellows could I be rescued. |

POT LUCK "If
the grass is greener on the other side, it’s because they are putting fertilizer on
it!" I’ve
spent a lot of my life envying what other people had, resenting that I didn’t
have it too, and feeling I deserved it. I’ve always felt smarter, more
talented, better looking, and more suited for the success I’ve seen others
enjoying. I never understood why others seemed to have all the breaks until I
entered recovery, and then I got a harsh lesson. . . .
