Your Daily Reprieve for Sunday December 21,
2025 From Waynesville,

Every morning, you have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams or wake up and chase them. "God has promised that whatever you face, you are not alone. He knows your pain. He loves you. And He will bring you through the fire." ~Sheila Walsh. "And so I wait. I wait for time to heal the pain and raise me to my feet once again – so that | can start a new path, my own path, the one that will make me whole again." ~Jack Canfield “Nothing improves if you drink.” ~El Granada, California, March 2003 On the Eighth Day of Christmas… "When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things —not the great occasions— give off the greatest glow of happiness." ~Augusta E. Randel “Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance —a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.” ~Carrie Fisher "I don't think Christmas is necessarily about things. It's about being good to one another." ~Edna Ferber |

tire so easily, for we are not burning up energy foolishly as we did when we

DAILY
REFLECTIONS LISTEN, SHARE AND
PRAY When working with a man and his family, you
should take care not to participate in their quarrels. You
may spoil your chance of being helpful if you do. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 100 When trying to help a fellow alcoholic, I've
given in to an impulse to give advice, and perhaps that's
inevitable. But allowing others the right to be wrong reaps its
own benefits. The best I can do— and it sounds
easier than it is to put into practice— is to listen, share
personal experience, and pray for others. |

POT LUCK Holding Tight There are two sides to holding tight. First, there's holding tight
to hope, holding tight to our values, holding tight to our recovery, holding
tight to those we love. These are all positive. Hope is sometimes the thing
we need most, and our ideals and values are always worth holding on to
tightly. Holding loved ones close feeds our hearts like few other things can. There is another side of holding tight, and it's not nearly as good
for us. Sometimes we hold on so tight to someone that we smother them, or at
the very least fail to give them the space they need to be themselves or grow
on their own. We can hold on so tightly to a resentment that it colors every
other area of our life with misery. Do you have any experience with that?
Some of us also hold tightly to stories that no longer serve us and behaviors
that harm us. What are you holding on to today that is supporting your
wellness? What do you need to release your grip on to continue to grow? Hold on tightly to that which serves you and release
the things that don't. Today's reading is from the book She Recovers Every Day:
