Your Daily Reprieve for Thursday December 11, 2025 From Waynesville,

Looking at the world from a perspective of abundance means having the courage to embrace the here-and-now, to trust what can yet be, and to believe that blessing isn’t a relic of the past but a promise of the future. Goals are simply tools to focus your energy in positive
directions; they can be changed as your priorities change, new ones added, and others dropped. “You are never too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream.” ― CS Lewis “The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional
love, which includes not only others but ourselves as well.” ― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross |

had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry
this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our

DAILY
REFLECTIONS "A GENUINE HUMILITY" . . . we are actually to practice a genuine humility. This
is to the end that our great blessings may never spoil us;
that we shall forever live in thankful contemplation of Him who presides over us all. TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 192 Experience has taught me that my alcoholic personality tends to be grandiose. While having seemingly good intentions, I can go off on tangents in pursuit of my "causes." My ego takes over and I lose sight of my
primary purpose. I may even take credit for God's handiwork in my life. Such an overstated feeling of my own importance is dangerous to my sobriety and could cause great harm to A.A. as a whole. My safeguard, the Twelfth Tradition, serves to keep me humble. I realize, both as an individual and as a member of the Fellowship, that I cannot boast of my accomplishments, and that "God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves." |
|
POT LUCK "Be
as enthusiastic about your recovery as you were about your addiction." When my sponsor asked me if
I was willing to go to any lengths to get sobriety, I balked. I had been
going to meetings for almost 60 days, and I had an idea what he meant. He was
suggesting that I go to “ninety in ninety” meetings, get a home group, take
commitments, write inventories, be willing to go on Twelve Step calls when it
wasn’t convenient, and so on. Sounded like a lot of work to me. I wasn’t sure
I could make that much of an open-ended commitment.
