“Self-justification
is a universal destroyer of harmony and of love. It sets man against
man, nation against nation. By it, every form of folly and violence can
be made to look right, and even respectable.
Of course it is not for us to condemn. We need only
investigate ourselves.” ~AA Co-Founder, Bill
W., June 1961 The soul would have
no rainbow had the eye no tears. "The privilege
of a lifetime is to become who you really are." Carl Jung "Think about
every good thing in your life right now. Free yourself of
worrying. Let go of the anxiety, breathe. Stay positive, all is
well." ~Germany Kent |

we begin, we ask God to direct our thinking, especially asking that it be
divorced from self-pity, dishonest or self-seeking motives. P86 |

12&12 Step Twelve - "Having had a spiritual awakening as the
result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to
practice these principles in all our affairs." Nearly Every sound human being experiences at some time in life,
a compelling desire to find a mate of the opposite sex with whom the fullest
possible union can be made—spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. This
mighty urge is the root of great human accomplishments, a creative energy
that deeply influences our lives. God fashioned us that way. So our question
will be this: How, by ignorance, compulsion, and self-will, do we misuse this
gift for our own destruction? We A.A.’s cannot pretend to offer full answers
to age-old perplexities, but our own experience does provide certain answers
that work for us. p.117 |

REFLECTIONS A UNIVERSAL SEARCH Be quick to see where
religious people are right Make use of what they offer. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS,
p. 87 I do not claim to have
all the answers in spiritual matters, any more than I claim
to have all the answers about alcoholism. There are
others who are also engaged in a spiritual search. If I
keep an open mind about what others have to say, I have
much to gain. My sobriety is greatly enriched, and my
practice of the Eleventh Step more fruitful, when I use
both the literature and practices of my Judeo-Christian
tradition, and the resources of other religions. Thus, I receive support
from many sources in staying away from the
first drink. |
