Your Daily Reprieve 10.07.25
Your Daily Reprieve for Tuesday October 7 ,

Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance toward the summit
keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from
each new vantage point. Climb slowly,
steadily, enjoying each passing moment; and the view from the summit will
serve as a fitting climax for the journey. -Harold B. Melchart Nothing is worth more than this day. -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Seekers of popularity, power, and pleasure—the end result is
the same: painful unfulfillment. Only in seeing their maker do people truly
become people. For in seeing our
Creator we catch a glimpse of what we were intended to be. We who would see our God would then see the
reason for death and the purpose of time.
Destiny? Tomorrow? Truth?
All are questions within the reach of people who know their
source. -Max Lucado Take your work seriously but yourself
lightly. -C.W. Metcalf |
Big Book
Quote To Christ I conceded the certainty of a great man, not too
closely followed by those who claimed Him. His moral teaching-most excellent.
For myself, I had adopted those parts which seemed convenient and not too
difficult; the rest I disregarded. P11 |

with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us

MONITORING Continued
to take personal
inventory. . . . TWELVE
STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 88 The
spiritual axiom referred to in the Tenth Step— "every time
we are disturbed, no matter what the cause, there is something
wrong with us"—also tells me that there are no exceptions
to it. No matter how unreasonable others may seem,
I am responsible for not reacting negatively. Regardless
of what is happening around me I will always have
the prerogative, and the responsibility, of choosing what
happens within me. I am the creator of my own reality. When I
take my daily inventory, I know that I must stop judging
others. If I judge others, I am probably judging myself.
Whoever is upsetting me most is my best teacher. I have
much to learn from him or her, and in my heart, I should
thank that person. |
Pot Luck "God
cannot do for you what He cannot do through you." I used to have the God thing all mixed up. My conception of
God was that if I was good and behaved myself, then good things would happen
for me. When I prayed, I prayed for the things I wanted, and then I waited
for God to deliver. Toward the end of my drinking, I was usually praying to
get out of one mess or another, and then promising to be better the next
time. It rarely worked.
