You must remember that our God has all knowledge and all
wisdom, and that therefore it is very possible he may guide you into paths
wherein he knows great blessings are awaiting you, but which, to the shortsighted human eyes around you, seem sure to result in
confusion and loss. -Hannah Whitall Smith Everything that exceeds the bounds of moderation has an unstable
foundation. ~Seneca Moderate desires constitute a character fitted to acquire all the good which the world can
yield. -Timothy Dwight For true worship, only God and the human soul are necessary. It does not depend upon times, or seasons, or occasions. Anywhere and at any time God and person in the bush may meet. ~Ralph Waldo Trine |
Big Book
Quote Neither could we reduce our self-centeredness much by wishing
or trying on our own power. We had to have God's help. P62 |

DAILY
REFLECTIONS WILLINGNESS
TO GROW If more
gifts are to be received, our awakening has to go on. AS BILL SEES
IT, p. 8 Sobriety
fills the painful "hole in the soul" that my alcoholism
created. Often I feel so physically well that I believe my
work is done. However, joy is not just the absence of
pain; it is the gift of continued spiritual awakening.
Joy comes from ongoing and active study, as well as
application of the principles of recovery in my everyday
life, and from sharing that experience with others. My Higher
Power presents many opportunities for deeper spiritual
awakening. I need only to bring into my recovery the
willingness to grow. Today I am ready to grow. |
Pot Luck "Pain
is necessary; misery is optional." For years, I used
alcohol to try to avoid the pain in my life. Whether it was emotional pain
caused by relationships, financial pain caused by poor job choices, physical
pain, or spiritual or even mental anguish, drinking was my way out. The
problem was when I came to the next day, my problems were still there, and
now I also had misery as well. Not only did I fret and worry about my
problems all over again, but I had new ones because of the actions I had
taken while loaded.
