The seven main aspects of
God “Spiritual progress isn’t
what gets us sober, it’s what keeps us sober.” ~ State College,

thousand different people is a thousand different
books." "The best cure for
one's bad tendencies is to see them in action in
another person." ~Alain De Botton |

12&12 Tradition One - "Our common welfare should come first;
personal recovery depends upon A.A. Unity." |
Twenty-Four Hours A.A. Thought For The
Day
|
Daily Thought ^*^*^*^*^ "Moved by
the spirit of anonymity, we try to give up our natural desires for personal
distinction as A.A. members both among fellow alcoholics and before the
general public. As we lay aside these very human aspirations, we believe that
each of us takes part in the weaving of a protective mantle which covers our
whole Society and under which we may grow and work in unity. We are sure that
humility, expressed by anonymity, is the greatest safeguard that Alcoholics
Anonymous can ever have."
|
Daily Reflection "I
WAS SLIPPING FAST" We A.A.'s are active
folk, enjoying the satisfactions of dealing with the
realities of life, . . . So it isn't surprising that we often tend to
slight serious meditation and prayer as something not really
necessary. TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE
TRADITIONS, p. 96 I had been slipping
away from the program for some time, but it took a death
threat from a terminal disease to bring me back, and
particularly to the practice of the Eleventh Step of our blessed
Fellowship. Although I had fifteen years of sobriety and was
still very active in the program, I knew that the quality of my
sobriety had slipped badly. Eighteen months later, a checkup
revealed a malignant tumor and a prognosis of certain
death within six months. Despair settled in when I
enrolled in a rehab program, after which I suffered two small
strokes which revealed two large brain tumors. As I kept
hitting new bottoms I had to ask myself why this was happening
to me. God allowed me to recognize my dishonesty and to
become teachable again. Miracles began to
happen. But primarily I relearned the whole meaning of the
Eleventh Step. My physical condition has improved
dramatically, but my illness is minor compared to what I
almost lost completely. |
Pot Luck Reflection I pause, reflect, and find God
anew. The nature of life is change,
which may happen more quickly than I'd like. Wanting to keep pace, I may
rush through life, eager to reach higher and do
more. Today I remember the
importance of stepping back and reflecting on how far I've come in my
spiritual growth and understanding. I have survived many trials
and realized many dreams. Reflection puts my present
life in perspective by replenishing my wellspring
of gratitude for the goodness and grace of God, which fills my life with many
blessings. It keeps me grounded in the precious present, able to fully appreciate the
gifts unfolding before me and able to behold God in the midst of
it all. |

Committee Consideration from the 73rd General Service Conference regarding any possible
future changes to literature written by A.A.’s founders, that committee agreed it would be beneficial
to gather shared experience from the Fellowship
regarding this topic. Questionaire How Should We Treat A.A. Founders' Writings? DR. PAUL O. ZOOM MEETINGS Loose
