Infinite riches are all
around you if you will open your mental eyes and behold the treasure
house of infinity within you. There is a gold mine within
you from which you can extract everything
you need to live life gloriously,
joyously, and abundantly. -Joseph Murphy Stop saying, “I haven’t
sponsored many people,” or “I’m not sponsoring
anyone,” which puts the responsibility on me, and carries a nugget of
guilt or shame, as if I’m not good enough
for someone to ask me to be their sponsor. Instead, say “God has not
presented me with an opportunity
recently to sponsor someone. His time, not mine,” which
recognizes the triangular partnership
in sponsorship: Sponsor, Sponsee, Higher
Power. (Heard at a Middlefield OH
meeting on 2/24/2022) The best index to people's
character is (a) how they treat people
who can't do them any good, and (b) how they treat people
who can't fight back. “When finally my household
went quite broke, I woke up to the fact that I hadn't been able to face the
prospect of going back to work. So I returned to Wall Street after all. And I
have ever since been glad that I did ... Indeed, there was one colossal
dividend that resulted directly from my grudging decision to reenter the
market place. It was a Wall Street business trip to Akron, Ohio, in 1935,
that first brought me face to face with Dr. Bob -- AA's co-founder-to-be. So
the birth of AA itself actually hinged on the fact that I had been trying to
meet my bread-and-butter responsibilities.” ~AA Co-Founder, Bill W.,

Big Book Quote "Much to our relief,
we discovered we did not need to consider another's conception
of God. Our own conception, however inadequate, was sufficient to make the
approach and to effect a contact with Him. As soon as we admitted the
possible existence of a Creative Intelligence, a Spirit of the Universe
underlying the totality of things, we began to be possessed of a new sense of
power and direction, provided we took other simple steps." ~Alcoholics

Daily Reflection GOAL:
SANITY ". . . Step Two
gently and very gradually began to infiltrate my life. I can't say upon
what occasion or upon what day I came to believe in a Power
greater than myself, but I certainly have that belief
now." TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE
TRADITIONS, p. 27 "Came to
believe!" I gave lip service to my belief when I felt like it or when I
thought it would look good. I didn't really trust God. I didn't
believe He cared for me. I kept trying to change things I
couldn't change. Gradually, in disgust, I began to turn
it all over, saying: "You're so omnipotent, you take care
of it." He did. I began to receive answers to my deepest
problems, sometimes at the most unusual times: driving to
work, eating lunch, or when I was sound asleep. I realized
that I hadn't thought of those solutions—a Power greater
than myself had given them to me. I came to believe. |
Pot Luck It’s amazing how good I feel when I get connected to my Higher
Power. I do this by praying and meditating in the mornings, or by speaking
with or helping someone in the program. I also get this feeling by attending
meetings or going out to fellowship. I love the peace I feel, the sense of
belonging I have, and the feelings of being comfortable in my own skin.
