"When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is
blessed." ~Maya Angelou “Be where you are; o therwise, you will miss your life.” "As you know, l ife is an echo; we get what we give." “It has been the actions of others that has given me unfailing support throughout my sobriety. It also shows how I am to respond to those whom I can help. I am responsible to see
that the hand of AA is available to anyone.” ~Moreno Valley, Calif., December 1992 |

BIG BOOK QUOTE In our personal stories you will find a wide variation in the
way each teller approaches and conceives of the Power which is greater than
himself. Whether we agree with a particular approach or conception seems to
make little difference. Experience has taught us that these are matters about
which, for our purpose, we need not be worried. They are questions for each
individual to settle for himself. P50 |

12&12 Step Two - "Came to believe that a Power greater than
ourselves could restore us to sanity." |

Twenty-Four Hours
A.A. Thought For The
Day
|
|
Daily Thought
(\ ~~
/) ( \(AA)/
) (_ /AA\ _) / AA \ ^*^*^*^*^ Why Worry? "There are many short phrases and
expressions in A.A. which make sound sense. 'First Things First':
solving our immediate problems before we try to solve all the others . . .
'Easy Does it.' 'Relax a little.' Try for inner contentment. No one individual
can carry all the burdens of the world. Everyone has problems. Getting drunk
won't solve them. 'Twenty-four hours a day.' 'Today is the day.' Doing our
best, living each day to the fullest is the art of living. Yesterday is gone,
and we don't know whether we will be here tomorrow. If we do a good job of
living today, and if tomorrow comes for us, then the chances are we will do a
good job when it arrives - so why worry about it?"

DAILY
REFLECTIONS TRUE
TOLERANCE The only
requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop
drinking. TWELVE STEPS
AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 139 I first heard
the short form of the Third Tradition in the Preamble.
When I came to A.A. I could not accept myself, my
alcoholism, or a Higher Power. If there had been any physical,
mental, moral, or religious requirements for membership, I
would be dead today. Bill W. said in his tape on the
Traditions that the Third Tradition is a charter for
individual freedom. The most impressive thing to me was the
feeling of acceptance from members who were practicing
the Third Tradition by tolerating and accepting me. I feel
acceptance is love and love is God's will for us. |

POT LUCK Honesty
Until I got honest about my addiction
to drugs and alcohol, my codependency, my workaholism, there was no hope that
I would recover from any of these things. Honesty about the things that are
harming us can come in fits and starts for some of us. It starts with
self-honesty, the inner knowing, sometimes accompanied by a sinking feeling,
that the jig is up, coupled with the inner knowing that something has got to
give, go, or change. Maybe you remember when that moment was for you. The
moment that you got honest with yourself. The other moment, equally powerful, is
when we speak our truth aloud to someone else. Sometimes we get honest with a
partner, another family member, a friend, a physician, or a therapist. Other
times we share in a meeting full of strangers. Who did you get honest with,
for the first time? It's also possible that you haven't had either of these
moments of honesty yet. That's okay. Each in our own time. Getting honest with ourselves and then getting honest with others
are big steps. Today's reading is from the
book She Recovers Every Day: |
