Your Daily Reprieve for Monday April 13,
2026 From Waynesville, NC |

Our workaday lives are filled with opportunities to bless
others. The power of a single glance or an encouraging smile must never be underestimated. For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would
begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. Today I know that the light at the end of the tunnel is ~anonymous If you are having a problem with Higher Power today, Imagine the problem Higher Power is having with you. ( heard at an AA meeting... thanks Stu K.) |

BIG
BOOK QUOTE The barriers he had built through the years were swept away.
He stood in the Presence of Infinite Power and Love. He had stepped from
bridge to shore. For the first time, he lived in conscious companionship with
his Creator. P56 |

Daily Thought ^*^*^*^*^ (\ ~~ /) ( \(AA)/ ) (_ /AA\ _) / AA \ ^*^*^*^*^ Courage I looked
around me at people who seemed happy and tried to analyze their
happiness, and it seemed to me that without exception these people
had something or somebody they loved very much. I didn't have the
courage to love; I was not even sure I had the capacity. Fear of
rejection and its ensuing pain were not to be risked . . . c. 1976

DAILY
REFLECTIONS THE FALSE
COMFORT OF SELF-PITY Self-pity
is one of the most unhappy and consuming defects that we
know. It is a bar to all spiritual progress and can cut off
all effective communication with our fellows because of its
inordinate demands for attention and sympathy. It is a maudlin
form of martyrdom, which we can ill afford. AS BILL SEES
IT, p. 238 The false
comfort of self-pity screens me from reality only momentarily
and then demands, like a drug, that I take an ever bigger
dose. If I succumb to this it could lead to a relapse into
drinking. What can I do? One certain antidote is to turn my
attention, however slightly at first, toward others who are
genuinely less fortunate than I, preferably other alcoholics.
In the same degree that I actively demonstrate my empathy
with them, I will lessen my own exaggerated suffering. |
