Your Daily Reprieve for Wednesday February 25, 2026

From Ponte Vedra, FL

The longer you live the more you realize

that forgiveness, consideration, and kindness

are three of the great secrets of life.

- unattributed

Grown men can learn from very little children

for the hearts of little children are pure.

Therefore, the Great Spirit may show to them

many things which older people miss.

- Black Elk

The relationship between commitment and doubt

is by no means an antagonistic one.

Commitment is healthiest when it is not without doubt

but in spite of doubt.

- Rollo May

Of course there is no formula for success except, perhaps,

an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.

-Artur Rubinstein

BIG BOOK QUOTE

There had been a humble willingness to have Him with me-and He came. But soon the sense of His presence had been blotted out by worldly clamors, mostly those within myself. And so it had been ever since. How blind I had been.

Tradition Seven - "Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions."

In this connection, Bill likes to tell the following pointed story. He explains that when Jack Alexander's Saturday Evening Post piece broke in 1941, thousands of frantic letters from distraught alcoholics and their families hit the Foundation* letterbox in New York. "Our office staff," Bill says, "consisted of two people: one devoted secretary and myself. How could this landslide of appeals be met? We'd have to have some more full-time help, that was sure. So we asked the A.A. groups for voluntary contributions. Would they send us a dollar a member a year? Otherwise this heartbreaking mail would have to go unanswered.

Twenty-Four Hours

A.A. Thought For The Day

Some people find it hard to believe in a Power greater than themselves.
But not to believe in such a Power forces us to atheism. It has been said
that atheism is blind faith in the strange proposition that this universe
originated in a cipher and aimlessly rushes nowhere. That's practically
impossible to believe. I think we all can agree that alcohol is a power
greater than ourselves. It certainly was in my case. I was helpless
before the power of alcohol. Do I remember the things that happened to
me because of the power of alcohol?

Meditation For The Day

The spiritual and moral will eventually overcome the material and
unmoral. That is the purpose and destiny of the human race. Gradually
the spiritual is overcoming the material in our minds. Gradually the
moral is overcoming the unmoral. Faith, fellowship, and service are
cures for most of the ills of the world. There is nothing in the field of
personal relationships that they cannot do.

Prayer For The Day

I pray that I may do my share in making a better world. I pray that I
may be part of the cure for the ills of the world.

Help is Available

If you have decided you want what we have and are willing to go to any length to get it - then you are ready to take certain steps. At some of these we balked. We thought we could find an easier, softer way. But we could not. With all the earnestness at our command, we beg of you to be fearless and thorough from the very start. Some of us have tried to hold on to our old ideas and the result was nil until we let go absolutely. Remember we deal with alcohol - cunning, baffling, powerful! Without help it is too much for us. But there is One who has all power - that One is God. May you find Him now!

DAILY REFLECTIONS

THE CHALLENGE OF FAILURE

In God's economy, nothing is wasted. Through failure, we

learn a lesson in humility which is probably needed,

painful though it is.

AS BILL SEES IT, p. 31

How thankful I am today, to know that all my past failures

were necessary for me to be where I am now. Through

much pain came experience and, in suffering, I became

obedient. When I sought God, as I understand Him, He

shared His treasured gifts. Through experience and

obedience, growth started, followed by gratitude. Yes, then

came peace of mind—living in and sharing sobriety.

POT LUCK

Each Day a New Beginning

Problems have only the size and the power that you give them.

-S. H.

We will not be free from all difficulties today, or during any period of our lives. But we have the personal power to eliminate the threat, the sting of any challenge. But it’s our vision of circumstances that gives them their interpretation.

At this moment, we are defining our experience. We are labeling events good or bad, valuable or meaningless. And our growth, particularly this day, is greatly influenced by the value judgments we attach to our experiences.

As we grow stronger emotionally and spiritually, we learn that all difficulties are truly opportunities for exceptional growth and increased awareness of the truth of existence. All experiences can be taken in stride if we are trustful of their intended blessing.

We are sharing this life, every moment of it, with a power greater than ourselves. We need not worry about any circumstance. Always we are watched over. We never need struggle alone.

We can let go of our problems. It’s ourselves and that attitude we have cultivated that makes any situation a problem. We can turn it loose and therein discover the solution.

I will not make mountains out of the molehills of my life.
