“I did not know what real happiness was when I came through the doors of AA. I needed someone to
teach me.” ~ Greensboro, North Carolina, May 2003
In seeking truth you have to get both sides of a story.
Achieving goals by themselves will never make us happy in the
long term: it’s who you become, as you
overcome the obstacles necessary to achieve your goals, that can give you the
deepest sense and most long-lasting sense of fulfillment. -Tony Robbins
It’s never too late, in fiction or in life, to revise. -Nancy Thayer |
Big Book
Quote When we sincerely took such a position, all sorts of
remarkable things followed. We had a new Employer. Being all powerful, He
provided what we needed, if we kept close to Him and performed His work well.

DAILY
REFLECTIONS
"MADE
A LIST . . ." Made a list of all persons
we had harmed, . . . TWELVE STEPS
AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 77
When I
approached the Eighth Step, I wondered how I could list
all the things that I have done to other people since there
were so many people, and some of them weren't alive
anymore. Some of the hurts I inflicted weren't bad, but they
really bothered me. The main thing to see in this Step was to
become willing to do whatever I had to do to make these
amends to the best of my ability at that particular time. Where
there is a will, there's a way, so if I want to feel
better, I need to unload the guilt feelings I have. A
peaceful mind has no room for feelings of guilt. With the help
of my Higher Power, if I am honest with myself, I can
cleanse my mind of these feelings.

Pot Luck
"How do you know when you’ve
hit bottom? When you stop digging."
For years, I was driven by an
obsession to drink. In the beginning I tried to control it, but after a while
it had complete control over me. My drinking led me to a deep emotional,
spiritual, and physical bottom, and only when I could admit to my innermost
self that I was an alcoholic could I find the willingness to surrender and
try a different way of living. And for me, that was working the Twelve Steps
of Alcoholics Anonymous.
